Gordon House is a former 1920's depository building, reconfigured with a new entrance befitting the scale and location of the building, and refurbished office accommodation, and roof extension, above.  The design of the new extension & tenancies responds to and compliments the original features of the industrial building such as the vaulted concrete soffits and exposed cast iron structure. At the reception level, a series of new perforated screens create layers through which the entrance is revealed.  In 2008, Squire and Partners completed the final phase of the building; a rooftop extension providing an additional floor of office accommodation, and the remaining 3 top floor tenancies were refurbished exposing the original features, using chilled beams and as unobtrusive an M&E strategy as possible, whilst still complying with BCO, this completed the whole building. 10 years from planning to final completion.
